1 — What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember information useful for your navigation (language preference, display choice, cookie consent, etc.).
French regulation (CNIL, articles 82 and following of the French Data Protection Act) and European regulation (GDPR, ePrivacy) require that any non-strictly-necessary cookie is subject to prior, free, informed and revocable consent.
2 — Cookies used on this site
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required)
These cookies are essential to the proper functioning of the site. They do not require your consent because they do not process personal data for purposes other than technical.
- Local storage of your cookie choice (key:
wap-cookie-consent) — stores your acceptance or refusal so the banner is not shown on every page. Retention: 13 months maximum (CNIL recommendation). - Local session storage (keys:
wap-page-dir) — temporarily stores swipe direction for the inter-page mobile animation. Retention: session only.
2.2 Analytics cookies (with consent)
Currently, no audience measurement tool is installed. If Plausible Analytics, Matomo or an equivalent GDPR-respecting tool is added in the future, they will only be triggered after your explicit acceptance via the cookie banner.
2.3 Third-party cookies
The following content may set third-party cookies if loaded or activated:
- LinkedIn — only if you click on a link to WAP's LinkedIn page. No LinkedIn pixel is embedded on the site.
- jsDelivr (CDN) — loads the D3 library for the interactive map on the About page. No cookies, but a network request is made to cdn.jsdelivr.net.
3 — How to refuse or withdraw your consent
You can at any time:
- Click "Reject all" on the cookie banner at your first visit.
- Clear your browser's local storage to make the banner reappear (Settings → Privacy → Site data).
- Configure your browser to block cookies (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge all offer this option).
Refusal has no impact on your ability to navigate the site: all features remain accessible.
4 — Retention period
- Consent choice: 13 months (CNIL).
- Session data: deleted when the browser closes.
- Third-party cookies (future): according to the tool's policy, never more than 13 months.
5 — Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection to personal data collected via cookies. To exercise these rights, contact us via the contact form with subject "Cookies" or see our complete privacy policy.
6 — Update
This policy may be updated to reflect the addition of tools or a regulation change. The last update date is shown in the information bar above. Any material change will be notified via the cookie banner (forced redisplay).
