Large-capacity gravity plant covering three Ivorian cities simultaneously. Sizing and process design were carried out by WAP under a strong constraint: low energy consumption (gravity operation), simple operation for local teams, on-site reagent storage autonomy.

Treatment process

Complete chain, each stage sized to guarantee output quality even when the resource degrades during the rainy season.

  • 01 — OxidationCa(ClO)₂
  • 02 — CoagulationAl₂(SO₄)₃
  • 03 — FlocculationFCP4
  • 04 — SettlingLamellar
  • 05 — FiltrationSand filtration
  • 06 — RemineralizationCa(OH)₂ / pH adjustment
  • 07 — DisinfectionFinal chlorination

Technical highlights

Mechanical regulation of filters at constant level (no complex automation needed), on-site lime storage for autonomy, 1,500 m³ treated water tank to absorb peak demand.
